‘100% Tunisian’ Extra Virgin Olive Oil Returns to Fancy Food Show Booth #3438

Johnson City, TN—The Tunisian Ministry of Industry proudly announces that ‘100% Tunisian’ olive oil returns to the US, with select producers to be featured at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, January 17-19, 2010.

Tunisia’s extra virgin olive oil is highly regarded around the world for its extraordinary taste, color and aroma. Thanks to a unique “terroir” and Mediterranean climate, Tunisia has a deeprooted history and culture in the production of olive oil. Located along Africa’s northern coast just 60 nautical miles from the island of Sicily,

Tunisia is the world’s fourth largest producer of olive oil. Tunisian olive oil has been used as a blending additive to soften the harsh taste of inferior oils for centuries. But with recent concerns over the quality of some “extra virgin” olive oils, ‘100% Tunisian’ is quickly becoming one of the most sought after brands worldwide.

“Tunisia’s olive oil crop has long been revered for its mild, fruity taste and exceptional quality,” says show organizer and Ministry representative Ms. Lémia Thabet. “We want the world to taste this remarkable oil in its pure state, not mixed with other oils, so they can experience the full taste treat.”

While consumer palates are becoming more sophisticated, attitudes are shifting towards pure and healthy oils not only for flavor, but for perceived benefits as a result of numerous studies that link significant health benefits to daily consumption of olive oil.

A variety of excellent ‘100% Tunisian’ extra virgin olive oils including kosher and organic—will be available for tasting at the Winter Fancy Food Show Booth #3438 in San Francisco.
